Instrument Drive and Music Education Program
The Colorado Music Foundation envisions a community where every person has access to music education and instruments, regardless of location, skill set, or financial barriers.
Program Outline
Instruments
Collect and purchase instruments through community drives and fundraising.
Distribution
Distribute instruments to aspiring musicians, underserved populations, and schools across Eagle County and beyond.
Lessons
Provide scholarships for workshops, public and private lessons with established Colorado music teachers and musicians
Partnerships
Build partnerships with schools, music teachers, and local businesses to strengthen Colorado’s cultural fabric.
Program Execution
1. Instrument Collection: Partner with local schools, music shops, and community drop-off sites. Gypsum Elementary School was our first school partnership!
2. Storage:. Partner with Allied Moving Services in Gypsum, CO for Instrument Storage.
3. Distribution: Create a structured application process for prospect musicians, students, and schools in need.
4. Education Support: Offer scholarships for lessons, provide community workshops, (See additional Pages) , and mentorship opportunities with local musicians.
5. Community Engagement: Highlight stories of impact at concerts and events, recognizing all individual and corporate support as sponsors.
